OUR PLANET

Process

Environmentally Conscious

Emissions are one of the tangible impacts to the earth. We have the first LEED Platinum level manufacturing facility in Pakistan. LEED provides a framework for healthy, efficient, carbon and cost-saving green buildings.

LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership. Platinum is the highest level of LEED certification, requiring at least 52 of the available 69 LEED points across the following categories: sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor environmental quality.

Water Conscious

The textile industry is notorious for its water-intensive processes. While Denim Privé used 0.066 m3 or 66L per piece in 2021, the traditional amount of water used per piece is 80L. Our aim is to reduce this to 50L by 2025.

As part of our commitment to advanced wastewater treatment and environmental protection, we adopt the better output principles of the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Program and implement the ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines. 100% of our wastewater met ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substances LIst (MRSL v1.1) requirements.

Energy Conscious

We will be Carbon Neutral by 2030 and 50% carbon neutral 50% by 2027.

Through our commitment to conserving energy by deploying an aerial-drying system, recapturing heat, using natural lighting, and investing into solar energy, we have reduced our energy usage by 13 million kilowatt-hours per year – and reduced CO2 emissions by nearly 80%.The 1,609 kW onsite Solar Farm powered 41.5% of total electrical consumption in 2023 and there are plans for an additional 1,480 kW of capacity.

Waste Conscious

We reduce waste by keeping garments out of landfills and in circulation. Our denim and apparel are high quality and built to last, increasing the lifecycle of our products and reducing consumption and waste.

Our PCW processes pre and post consumer waste, and unincorporated fabric. All non-hazardous waste is recycled besides food waste, resulting in a non- hazardous landfill diversion rate of 99.7%. All hazardous waste is disposed of by an EPA-approved third party who incinerates or disposes of waste in an environmentally responsible manner.

Chemically Conscious

Denim Prive ́ 's dyes and auxiliaries were fully compliant with REACH (2), BluSign, GOTS, and ZDHC v2.0 standards. As of 2021, there have been zero reported incidents of non-compliance related to our product labels' health and safety impacts.

We evaluate our suppliers and their protocol, as well as use third party verification to ensure our process is chemically conscious. Some of these include: OEKO, Bluesign, and GreenScreen.
